About us

At GoCardless we believe bank payments are the best way to pay and get paid. We also believe that bank account data is a powerful tool to make better, faster decisions. We're making it easy to use both- for businesses everywhere.

GoCardless is used for domestic and international payments by 85,000+ organisations and counting, processing more than $30 billion across 30 countries. We are headquartered in the UK, with additional offices in Australia, France, Latvia and the United States.

The role

This is a great opportunity to join a high calibre finance team and make a tangible difference to the quality of their operations. You'll be a valued business partner to stakeholders driving self serve revenue growth, helping the team to deliver on ambitious growth expectations for our variable revenue accounts (VRA) - the founding revenue stream of the business and one with ambitious growth expectations. The role will have two points of focus based on both sides of an ROI calculation: the primary focus being on revenues and understanding the 'why' behind the numbers, with a secondary focus on investment and how this shapes performance.
What excites you
  • Be a credible and trusted business partner
  • Own the budget and forecast process which enables you to deliver models & key analysis for a top down and bottom up planning approach
  • Build investment models which are suitable for business input and speak to key metrics
  • Consolidate key projects and learnings into digestible and engaging summaries suitable for relevant audiences ranging from non-finance employees to the Board
  • Report weekly and monthly on revenue and performance metrics with accompanying analysis and commentary
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for data and insight
  • Own the integrity of the rolling spend forecasts and close month end; must work alongside stakeholders to ensure high standards of inputs in order to deliver quality ROI reporting and inform decision making
  • Manage one direct report who assists with cost management and ongoing revenue and KPI analysis
What excites us
  • Confidence in engaging with stakeholders, especially non-finance professionals
  • Enjoy working in Excel/Google Sheets to build financial models of varying complexity
  • Capable with working with large data sets and funnel analysis
  • Be inquisitive; passionate about interrogating data to understand the 'why'
  • Able to step back from the detail and present analysis at a high level to a range of stakeholders
  • Cost management in a commercial context including:
    • Accruals, Prepayments and Reconciliations
    • Delivering a clean and consistent P&L and Balance sheet
