What is the opportunity?
The Global Investment Banking division in Australia is looking to add an experienced Business Manager (Vice President) in Sydney, to support our Investment Banking team in the APAC region, reporting to the head of Business Management. The Business Manager will help drive the operational efficiency and strategic direction of the division to achieve superior business performance and results. You will do this by effectively partnering with the business and functional partners including Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, HR, IT, Communications and Marketing.

What is the opportunity?
The Global Investment Banking division in Australia is looking to add an experienced Business Manager (Vice President) in Sydney, to support our Investment Banking team in the APAC region, reporting to the head of Business Management. The Business Manager will help drive the operational efficiency and strategic direction of the division to achieve superior business performance and results. You will do this by effectively partnering with the business and functional partners including Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, HR, IT, Communications and Marketing.
What will you do?
- Conduct market share competitive analysis of industry sectors, markets and products and other ad-hoc analytics
- On-going lead for various ad-hoc strategic initiatives and internal management meetings, creation of periodic management reports
- Prepare and interpret strategic & financial reports that combine all aspects of the business, including client profiling, banker productivity, competitive analytics
- Assist with annual budgeting and planning process
- Assist in managing content for Investment Banking leadership strategy sessions
- Take the lead on implementing compliance protocols / internal audit remediations
- Supporting the business on compliance and adherence to the firm's regulatory obligations
- Act as a point person for Investment Banking with functional partners (Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, HR, IT, Communications and Marketing).
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 8+ years of business management experience in a financial institution
- Undergraduate in Finance / Accounting / Economics or related fields
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point, Dealogic, Acrobat, etc.
- Project management mind-set and can-do approach
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Comfort and confidence interacting with Senior Leaders and management
- Detail oriented and analytical, excellent problem solving skills
- Strong communication, written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to take initiative and function collaboratively in a team
- Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct
Nice-to-have
- Knowledge of Investment Banking products preferred (M&A, ECM, DCM, Lev Fin)
- Experience in a global financial services organization
