About the role

It's an exciting time to be joining Brighte. We are hiring a Risk Analyst, which is new role within our Lending team!

As our Risk Analyst, you'll help identify and assess potential risks within our lending products and services and take ownership of reporting on effectiveness of key mitigants and other performance indicators.

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to analyse data, monitor industry trends, and develop strategies to minimise financial, operational, and industry specific risks, while ensuring Brighte's long-term sustainability and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular risk assessments on Brighte's lending products, identifying potential areas of risk exposure and developing mitigation strategies.

• Provide insights into credit policies and recommend adjustments as necessary to minimise losses and maintain profitability.

• Analyse portfolio performance data and market trends to identify arrears patterns and emerging risks. Develop reports and dashboards to track key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance metrics.

• Monitor and provide reporting on effectiveness of auto-decisioning rules, and other underwriting and fraud management controls.

• Own the comprehensive credit reporting framework and compliance with the PRDE data standards.

• Provide input into stress testing and ECL model development for Brighte's lending portfolio.

• Prepare and present risk reports to senior management, highlighting key risks, potential impacts, and recommended actions. Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure effective risk management practices.

• Work closely with product development teams, legal & compliance, and finance departments to provide risk insights

About You

We want you to succeed in this role, so that means you'll bring some key skills to the table.

• Experience in risk analysis or modelling preferably within the consumer finance or banking industry.

• High SQL proficiency- this is essential to your success. Experience with Python, or data visualisation software (e.g., Tableau) is an advantage.

• A sound understanding of consumer finance products, especially personal loans. Understanding in BNPL products would be highly advantageous.

• High-level familiarity with underwriting, credit scoring, and collections processes is an advantage.

• Knowledge of risk management methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, stress testing, and scenario analysis.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to synthesise complex data and present actionable insights.

Outstanding communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical risk information to non-technical stakeholders
