About the Role

Department: Distribution, Proposition and Marketing

Location: London - hybrid working

Your core purpose is to develop and lead the Proposition function and, working closely with Distribution, to create the overarching propositions strategy for the HNW segment of the business to drive sustainable, profitable growth, whilst delivering good customer outcomes.

You will be responsible for gaining insights into future market trends/dynamics and areas of competition to get a deep understanding target market clients and develop propositions to meet these needs, whilst adhering to appropriate standards and evidencing appropriate governance in line with compliance and risk requirements.

You will share your proposition expertise and leadership on key strategic business projects and actively be the voice of the customer within these. Leading the function to maintain and manage the current propositions to ensure the intended value is being driven, making recommendations for improvements or withdrawal where appropriate, as well as on all aspects of the business case creation for all new propositions and gain buy in from appropriate stakeholders and forums for approval, funding and change resource including the provision of fund negotiation, pricing and ratings to ensure sustained commercial proposition and market position.

Additionally, you will own the proposition development pipeline including the application of prioritisation principles and alignment to the proposition strategy and delivery roadmap as well as identifying and managing the 3rd party providers where appropriate.

The role incorporates the Financial Planning and Investment Management offerings for clients and advisers. Working with front office, distribution, and specialists from product, investments, and compliance, new opportunities should be designed collaboratively with a key focus on client outcomes and executed with a 'disciplined delivery' mindset to drive value for clients, colleagues, advisers, and shareholders. It encompasses critical oversight of our advice standards and the Centralised Investment Proposition of the Financial Planning side of the business.

To successfully own and evolve our comprehensive, multi-channel proposition, the role requires a leader who can bring strong technical knowledge, understanding of our current and future clients, the ability to assess market trends as well as investment/advice experience.
  • Client Value Proposition - in line with Consumer Duty, conduct target market analysis, validation and review to ensure we continue to understand our relevant segments, their needs, and associated trends. Identify our ideal client proposition, define required developments ensure disciplined delivery for clients and shareholders. Working with an array of stakeholders, develop a clear, compelling articulation of our current and future proposition competitiveness. This includes pricing across investment management and advice.
  • Adviser & Professional Services Value Propositions - collaboratively defining product, service, and pricing opportunities to drive the competitiveness of our offerings based on competitor analysis and market insight. Translate opportunities into business cases and delivery plans which result in commercial value and good client outcomes.
  • Ensure the value, suitability, and longevity of our advice business's Core Investment Proposition, identifying and delivering areas for developments. This will involve leveraging research capabilities from across Quilter, to ensure the Core Investment Proposition remains fit for purpose and aligned to target market client needs. It will involve end to end ownership and maintenance of specialist HNW elements of the proposition that are unique to Quilter Cheviot, whilst leveraging the research capabilities from Group for common aspects.
  • Monitoring and reporting trends to support proposition and commercial understanding, as well as the delivery of good customer outcomes.
  • Representing our proposition needs at relevant governance forums.
  • Engage with regional teams to inform plans and development roadmaps ensuring clear understanding across the organisation on focus areas, progress, and risks.
  • Training and development - feed into training needs for regional teams to drive best practise and proposition adoption.
  • Owning propositional related material and literature and its associated content such as competitor reviews, sales presentations, ensuring timely and appropriate communication to the business, and particularly the adviser and professional services community.
  • Owning proposition relationships (technical and strategic) across the Quilter group and externally to collaborate and share knowledge.

This role will directly impact good customer outcomes by ensuring that our end client and intermediated propositions are well researched, meet client needs, are competitive, and provide value for money.

About You
  • You will have a solid track record of inspiring and engaging teams to deliver industry leading propositions.
  • You will have proven and credible experience in a proposition / commercial senior leadership role, coupled with an in-depth understanding of wealth management products and services and in-depth understanding of UK regulatory environment.
  • You'll be able to demonstrate success in developing and embedding proposition development and delivery as well as experience of proposition management and marketing to support multiple channels of distribution.
  • As a member of the senior leadership team, you'll be well versed in managing senior, complex stakeholder environments, have the ability to communicate with impact, and exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate, build relationships & lead through influence in an ever-changing environment. You make decisions, and execute them in a fast, simple, and focused manner
  • The ideal candidate will have investment management and/or advice qualifications as well as front office experience.
  • You'll be confident in delivering presentations, with advanced influencing and change management skills, being seen as a trusted partner with a true understanding of our clients, teams, products as well as business drivers and risks.
  • You'll understand the importance and management information (MI), with the ability to find and articulate trends and solutions.
