The Natural Resources, Energy & Carbon team is part of Global Client Solutions which sits within CBA's Institutional Banking and Markets division. The business provides relationship management as well as the provision of capital solutions, risk management and transaction banking to clients in the natural resources and carbon sector including ASX listed and institutional investors.

Your Impact and Contribution

As an Associate Director, you'll be working in a dynamic and high performing team across complex transactions within the natural resources and carbon sectors with a key focus on both corporate and project finance of mining assets. You will be involved in various aspects of deal related activity including financial modelling, facility structuring, due diligence of transaction information materials and in-life portfolio management.

Do work that matters:

You'll play a key role in providing client, transaction and operational support across the customer lifecycle, responsibilities include:
  • Working as a team over the lifecycle of a deal to lead origination of new business and deliver documentation, execution, establishment, settlement and in-life maintenance processes.
  • Preparing credit papers for approval, annual credit reviews and providing analytical and credit related support in preparation of credit applications for new transactions.
  • Analysing evolving sector trends and regulatory developments and use this analysis to prepare and present relevant and compelling pitches to clients in order to accurately assess risks.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Liaising with product partners, credit risk and other stakeholders as required.
  • Providing training and development of junior team members across the business.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:
  • A demonstrated experience in structuring loans and credit for complex transactions, including project finance.
  • Experience leading and executing deals will be highly regarded.
  • A genuine interest in the mining sector and the role minerals will play in the energy transition. Sector experience / knowledge will be viewed favourably.
  • A solid understanding of risk management and credit risk issues and have demonstrable financial modelling, research and analytical skills.
  • The ability to grasp complex structured transactions and analyse the benefits for specific client circumstances.
  • The ability to grasp the client value proposition and who can deliver the bank's products and services to meet our clients evolving needs.
