This role sits within the hummgroup People and Culture (P&C) Business Unit within People Services Team. With an operational focus on all aspects of the employee life cycle, the People Advisor is responsible for providing a broad range of operation support services to the wider People & Culture team that span across business functions, while working closely with the P&C Business Partners and CoE's to provide high quality advice and assistance to leaders on people related matters including recruitment, onboarding, remuneration, performance management, training and development, employment relations and industrial relations. You will have the opportunity to be involved with exciting P&C strategic projects to attract, support and retain the best talent for humm group.

What does an average day look like?
No day is average at humm but here's an idea of what you can expect to do in this role:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for leaders and employees regarding people related enquiries and questions including managing and triaging the shared team inbox's
- Interpret and communicate HR policies, procedures, and guidelines to employees and managers
- Provide advice, guidance, support and coaching to managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans
- Collaborate with TA and Hiring Managers to offer support and guidance concerning the appropriate procedures and assist in onboarding or hiring new starters
- Support People Partners in preparing employment variations and related documentation including the operational aspects of organisational change
- Provide support to comply with WHS obligations in relation to processing Workers Compensation claims, tracking, and reporting WHS incidents
- Work with the People Services Manager to identify and implement continuous improvements.
- Assist leaders in addressing performance issues through coaching, training, and development initiatives
- Administer performance appraisal systems and track employee progress against established goals and objectives
- Providing support to broader P&C team and other stakeholders on the management of activities across the annual people cycle (e.g. Performance, Reward, Talent, Engagement)
- Promote a culture of P&C compliance and risk management awareness and manage compliance-related issues or non-compliance are escalated and/or reported

We're also looking for someone who brings:
- 3-5 years of experience in HR roles, with a focus on employee relations, recruitment, and performance management
- Significant experience in providing support and coaching in human resources matters
- Demonstrated ability to develop, write and implement policies and procedures
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and peers
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong organisation and time management skills along with strong attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations and industrial relations frameworks
- Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Tertiary qualifications in HR or related discipline (highly desirable)
