About Our Client
Our client is a reputable investment firm known for its focus on private, mid-market investment opportunities. As a Finance Director you are responsible for invested portfolio companies in the energy/infrastructure. You tasks will include liquidity management, capital structure optimization including (project) finance workstreams/leverage management. There is an element of FP&A where the person should lead/oversee strategic initiatives/value creation from a financial perspective in collaboration with local portfolio company management. You will lead a team of 2 Senior Associates handling accounting and valuation workstreams, this requires oversight and some proactive control/decision making and requires a good understanding of these topics. The team is small and the candidate therefore needs a hands-on, proactive, "entrepreneurial" mentality.

Job Description
  • Drive financial best practices across the portfolio, build strong relationships with CFOs, lead financial optimization strategies, and chair finance committees.
  • Ensure timely delivery of annual budgets and revised 5-year plans by collaborating with finance committees, internal teams, and the board.
  • Oversee accurate quarterly valuations, compile fund-level valuations for approval, and maintain high reporting standards across portfolio companies.
  • Facilitate annual portfolio audits, align with auditors on valuation methodologies, ensure regulatory compliance, and monitor fund concentration limits.
  • Centralize cash planning, coordinate investor drawdowns and capital deployment, and ensure efficient cash pooling across portfolio companies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with banks and debt providers, monitor financial markets, and support capital structure optimization.
