About the department

The Group Financial Reporting team is responsible for the production of the Annual report and accounts (ARA) and Half year results (HYR) announcement and the Investment Firms Prudential Regime (IFPR) regulatory returns. The team also supports a range of additional reporting and technical accounting related tasks as required.

About the role

Within our Group Financial Reporting team we have an opportunity for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join our growing team. You will get the opportunity to be a part of the team which is central to the external communication and reporting of the Group's results.

This role reports to the Head of Group Financial Reporting and you will be responsible for ensuring key financial and regulatory reporting deliverables are produced to a high standard and on a timely basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and the ability to prepare and present financial statements and reports in accordance with group requirements.
  • Collation of detailed information required for reporting and disclosure, including liaison with other areas of the business.
  • Data and commentary submissions are reviewed, analysed and challenged to ensure information provided is accurate and appropriate.
  • Supporting technical accounting work
  • Preparation/ review of group regulatory submissions.
  • Develop finance systems knowledge to ensure optimal use of technology to drive insight and analysis.
  • Deliver continuous process/quality improvements - looking to add value by challenging existing practices and designing, developing and implementing changes to ensure reporting is in line with industry best practice and adds value.
  • Maintain a well-controlled reporting environment for internal and external reporting processes.

About the candidate requirements
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, practices and processes.
  • Strong PC skills, particularly Excel.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
