We are working with a well-regarded, long-standing 2-partner accountancy firm in Central London, who are seeking to appoint an Audit Director to join their team. Role Overview:As Audit Director, you will play a key role in the leadership of the firm's audit department, overseeing both SME audits and group audits. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead audits of a diverse client portfolio, including SME clients and larger group audits.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff, ensuring the development of audit and accounting skills within the team.
- Manage client relationships and communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and deliver value.
- Ensure audits are completed in compliance with current audit practices and technical standards.
- Work with senior management to improve audit processes and procedures, ensuring efficiency and quality in all engagements.
- Collaborate with partners on strategic planning and the growth of the firm's audit practice.
Key Requirements:
- ACA or ACCA qualified with significant experience in audit, ideally within a practice environment.
- RI status (Registered Individual) or the willingness to achieve this status in the near future.
- Strong audit technical knowledge and experience working with a variety of clients, including SMEs and group audits.
- Experience in a decent-sized practice or a firm outside of the Big 4, with a solid understanding of current audit practices and software.
- People skills and personality are just as important as technical ability - we are looking for a confident, personable leader who can manage and inspire a team, build strong client relationships, and contribute to a positive and inclusive office culture.
- Knowledge of tax is useful, but not essential.
- Experience in due diligence would be an added advantage.
- Proactive and capable of driving positive change and continuous improvement within the firm's processes and procedures.
