Key Responsibilities
Candidate Profile
This position is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional with a proven track record in banking, a strong grasp of regulatory frameworks, and a passion for leading and optimizing financial operations.
- Accounting Operations
- Manage the Accounting Section within the Finance Department, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Oversee daily, monthly, and annual financial operations, including P&L accounts and Forex positions.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of Profit & Loss reports, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Supervise accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Team Management
- Lead, manage, and motivate a team of six accountants, fostering development and maintaining high performance.
- Provide training and guidance to improve efficiency and knowledge within the team.
- Prepare annual accounts in line with IFRS and local GAAP standards.
- Manage VAT declarations and ensure tax compliance through the TVA system.
- Collaborate with external auditors and financial authorities to maintain compliance and address audit requirements.
- Maintain and update bank accounts and records within the Banking System.
- Develop and refine internal procedures for increased efficiency and compliance.
- Support the Head of Finance on projects and corporate accounting matters.
- Assist General Management by advising on accounting and financial issues.
- Manage regulatory reporting (CSSF, BCL) as required.
- Ensure alignment with accounting standards and legal regulations, including engaging with financial authorities.

Candidate Profile
- Experience & Education
- Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting, preferably in banking.
- Proven experience managing teams effectively.
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Technical Knowledge
- Expertise in Lux GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Advanced knowledge of tax and VAT regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting (CSSF, BCL) is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Professional discretion, high efficiency, and initiative-driven approach.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Bilingual fluency in English and French is essential.
- Prior experience as an auditor.
- Expertise in managing external auditor relationships.
- Strong collaboration skills with upper management and stakeholders.
