Job Summary:
Post Trade is responsible for maintaining the orderly, fair and expeditious clearing and settlement arrangements for the securities, on-exchange derivatives and OTC derivatives markets. This department also provides central securities depository, custody and nominee services, and admission of stocks and structured products. The team also provides hotline and training services to investors and clearing participants.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities:
  • Strong entrepreneurial and continuous improvement mindset to keep identifying areas for improvement to existing operational processes, make appropriate proposals and implementation plan with proper internal controls in place.
  • Responsible for building relationships across the entire local infrastructure chain, including local banks, brokers, exchanges, central security depositories (CSDs), central banks and regulators to enhance overall partnership and engagement.
  • Proactively responds and adapts to change - supports and influences strategies to enable business transformation and enhancement. Ability to redefine our business working model, policy and operational flow for Depository operations.
  • Work in partnership with Operations, Product, Technology, Sales & Marketing, Legal, Compliance and Risk to design and push forward the business agendas for post trade.
  • Strong understanding of HKSCC's strategic projects and support the implementation of the strategic projects to deliver comprehensive custody services for the market.
  • Define and regularly review documentation templates to be used for standards and policies with in-depth knowledge in account management, vendor management and contract management
  • Build and maintain relationships with clearing participants and associated stakeholders e.g. banks & system vendors etc. and identify areas for modernizing existing operational processes with appropriate proposals and implementation plans.
  • Manage market feedback and able to navigate clients' request by levering strong market experience. Also provide training to clearing participants with an aim to improve enquiry efficiency and introduce new products or services.
  • Draw up market engagement plans to support post-trade related initiatives and day-to-day related issues to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capable of directing different post-trade related projects based on in-depth knowledge within post-trade areas. Effectively guide the internal stakeholders to understand market needs at each stage of project cycle, market readiness and model design.
  • Sensitive about HK, China and international market developments and industry initiatives. Publish market newsflashes on operational, regulatory, or other market changes which may impact internal and external parties.
Requirements:
  • University Degree, preferably in Finance / Business Administration or related disciplines
  • At least 7-10 years' experience in post-trade related products and services and thorough understand on how Hong Kong market participants operate.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience, responsible for staff development by providing guidance, direction and feedback regularly.
  • Effective communication and stakeholders' management skills; with demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels both internal and external parties.
  • Self-Motivated, driven and good entrepreneurial mindset to make things better. Resourceful, proactive and able to prioritize and navigate in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
  • Confident, proactive, flexible, self-reliant and good team player. An Independent thinker with willingness to push for what you believe in
  • Strong analytical, planning and problem solving skills; ability to understand the "big-picture" while rigorously paying attention to details.
  • Flexible, detail-oriented and meticulous. Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and able to work effectively under pressure arisen from workload and time constraints.
  • Excellent presentation and written/spoken English, Chinese and Putonghua
  • Conversant with MS Word / Excel / Outlook / PowerPoint / Access / VBA
