Position Summary

We are looking for a private market analyst to join our dynamic team. The private market analyst will play a pivotal role in researching, evaluating, and conducting due diligence on private market assets, such as private equity, real estate, hedge funds etc. This individual will report to the Director of Research but work in tandem with our current Senior Private Markets analyst. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private market investments, a deep understanding of various asset classes, and the ability to navigate complex financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Research and analysis: Conduct in-depth research on private market assets, including private equity, real estate, hedge funds, and other non-traditional investments.
• Due diligence: Perform thorough due diligence on potential investment opportunities, assessing risks and opportunities associated with each private market asset.
• Portfolio management: Assist in the construction and management of the private market portfolio, ensuring alignment with the firm’s overall investment strategy and risk tolerance.
• Market monitoring: Stay abreast of market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes affecting private market asset classes. Provide regular updates to the investment team and investment committee.
• Performance monitoring: Evaluate and monitor the performance of existing private market assets, preparing comprehensive reports for internal stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with other investment ream members to ensure a holistic approach to portfolio management.

Skills and Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
• Advanced degree, CFA (or CFA candidate) a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in private market asset due diligence.
• Strong understanding of various private market asset classes, including but not limited to private equity, real estate, private credit, real assets, and hedge funds.
• Experience in conducting comprehensive interviews with fund managers to assess their investment strategies, risk management practices, and overall fund performance.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with extreme attention to detail.
• Proficient in financial modeling and analysis tools.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex investment concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Positive, team-player attitude, self-starter, willingness to take ownership of problems and work towards finding solutions, works well under pressure.
