Vice President, Capital Solutions

Capital Markets offers clients a full range of strategic and tailored investment banking products and advisory services, backed by the resources and experience of a Top 10 Commercial Bank. This includes Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Loan Syndications, Structured Products, Mergers and Acquisitions, Derivatives, Tax Credit Finance, and Equity Sales, Research, and Trading.

Capital Solutions is a newly created team that is part of the Financing Group, a division within Capital Markets.

The Capital Solutions team will provide Private Equity (PE) Sponsor clients a range of specialized advisory services, including:
  • Comprehensive capital placement services for direct co-investment opportunities, including Equity, Preferred Equity, and Junior Debt Financing
  • Enhanced opportunities to increase buying-power, assets under management, and financial benefits
  • Strategic advice on co-investments and capital structure
  • A tailored, confidential approach to capital raising

This role will include, but is not limited to, originating, structuring, and placing equity and/or junior capital in the private markets. Investors in these transactions are Family Offices, Endowment Funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Pension Funds, and other Institutional Investors. Furthermore, the team may be engaged as an Advisor in either a public or private transaction. The Capital Solutions team will leverage existing PE Sponsor, Corporate, and M&A origination efforts to help identify capital-raise opportunities. The team will also supplement existing Financing Group debt placement capabilities to offer a comprehensive product offering.

The individual will be a registered representative of Capital One Securities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in sourcing placement opportunities from Capital One's existing client base and from the broader market
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Private Equity Sponsors and Investors
  • Assist in pitches and help execute transactions and placement opportunities which includes:
    • Developing and executing the strategy for the transaction
    • Designing the investor targeting and investor engagement
    • Overseeing the team's production of valuation support, financial models, marketing materials, and legal documentation
    • Providing excellent client relationship management
  • Oversee the collection and interpretation of: comparable companies and offering information, interpreting market trends, monitoring and interpreting specific company stock movements, monitoring important research, economic news, and general trends in the equity and equity-linked markets, and maintaining and updating any pitch related materials to prospective clients
  • In partnership with the Capital Solutions leadership, support the short, medium, and long-term vision for the team and growth plan
  • Contribute to the team through the development of revenue opportunities while maintaining Capital One's unique culture and values
  • Common capital structure solutions include but are not limited to:
    • Direct equity co-invest
    • Debt placements; HoldCo, Mezzanine, Second Lien
    • Advisory on Initial public offerings, follow-on, SPAC, and PIPE transactions
  • Travel is required for this role

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in strategic and capital raising services
  • At least 4 years of capital advisory experience
  • At least 4 years of experience developing financial models
  • At least 4 years of experience in M&A or Investment Banking

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • At least 6 years of experience in strategic and capital raising services
  • At least 6 years of capital advisory experience
  • At least 6 years of experience developing financial models
  • At least 6 years of experience in M&A or Investment Banking
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site):
$215,000 - $265,000 for Vice President, Capital Solutions

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
