Major Duties :1. Mentor and support team colleagues in the completion of their duties.

2. Lead and support the activity to set SLO's, monitor SLI's and alert on breaches for critical NT services.

3. Lead and support the activity to design, build and run SRE enablement and automation technology.

4. Provide technical guidance to SREs using the SRE enablement and automation technology.

5. Deal with performance, reliability and availability problems with the team's technology, recruiting help from other SREs or support teams as appropriate.

6. Identify the need for, and action, escalation of team operational matters to the Head of Site Reliability Engineering.

7. Identify the need for escalation of technical matters relating to the team's technology to support personnel and organizations and take action accordingly.

8. Undertake ad-hoc tasks that contribute to the success of the SRE organization.

9. Provide verbal and written reports as may be needed from time to time.

10. Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise

11. Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities

12. Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues

13. Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity

Knowledge :Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

In-depth Functional / Industry Knowledge is required

Highly flexible and adaptable to change

Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. Peoplesoft) is required

Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff.

Experience :Deep technical expertise in at least one technology and proficiency in several others, drawn from those commonly in use in Enterprise-sized organization (e.g Networks, Unix, Windows, VMware, Java, .NET)

Experience solving complex troubleshooting efforts including application performance issues

Highly skilled in network trace analysis of distributed applications

Experience in time-series data collection and analysis

Experience in cloud-based infrastructures is desirable

A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required / preferred.

Related Industry qualification (e.g. ACCA) is required / preferred
