Mission: Support CGME (Citi Global Markets Europe) management to incorporate ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) matters and risks across the organization
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute on CGME's ESG strategy and provide respective input to CGME's strategic plan (business strategy)
- Lead CGME's ESG initiative and strategy
- Run ESG working group to ensure execution of ESG implementation efforts across the entity based on relevant ESG-related regulatory requirements and supervisory expectations considering set deadlines, both internal and external
- Develop, maintain and monitor CGME's ESG implementation plan and deadlines, both internal and external
- Define and drive ESG priorities by taking into account regulatory requirements and lead the planning efforts around upcoming regulations
- Support with the incorporation of ESG matters and risks in the business strategy, governance, risk management and disclosures and collaborate with business lines and functions
- Support the European ESG Strategy Lead on the Europe ESG strategy and operating model for the Europe cluster and cross-entity activities and initiatives
- Align on Citigroup ESG initiatives, teams (e.g. global Sustainability & ESG team, Climate Risk team) and stakeholders to align efforts for a consistent strategy and approach to ESG across Europe, UK and globally
- Support global and regional ESG initiatives with an impact on Europe and CGME
- Lead the ESG business environment scanning process for the legal entity
- Work with CGME's business lines (Markets and Investment Banking) to develop sustainable finance client and product strategies
- Develop and monitor ESG-related KPIs at legal entity and business line level, provide a quarterly reporting of ESG KPIs to the Management Board
- Further develop ESG roles and responsibilities in collaboration with CGME's internal control functions and Citigroup initiatives
- Work closely with Risk Management to ensure ESG risks are incorporated into risk management processes
- Provide relevant input to ESG disclosures based on relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), ECB Guide on Climate & Environmental Risks)
- Work with CGME's business lines and functions across all three lines of defense (e.g. Risk Management, Compliance, Finance, HR) to explain and train on ESG-related regulatory and supervisory expectations
- Ensure ESG-related regulatory deliverables (e.g., thematic reviews, questionnaires, ad-hoc requests) are delivered considering set deadlines
- Prepare presentations / materials for scheduled CGME Management Board / Supervisory Board and other governance meetings, as well as for regulatory engagement and statutory auditor meetings on ESG
- Chair CGME ESG governance meeting, such as ad-hoc steering meetings
- Provide monthly / quarterly ESG updates to the CGME Management Board / Supervisory Board
- Provide ESG training, including tutorials for Management and Supervisory Board
- Provide advice on sustainability matters and best practices across business lines and functions
- Work closely with all global, regional and local stakeholders involved, including business lines, functions, regions and countries, boards and regulators
- Manage LE entity statutory audits and external reviews related to ESG. Provide SME input into relevant ESG questionnaires (ECB SREP, etc.)
- On an ad-hoc basis and as needed, support the business management activities of the CGME Business Execution Office

Qualification & Experience:
- At least 8+ years of experience within a fast-paced business environment, preferably in a global/complex/matrix organization
- Significant experience in the area of ESG and financial services
- Experience in strategic planning and entity governance
- Good knowledge of banking products and services
- Thorough awareness of market needs and competitive environment
- Track record in project and process management
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance or in a related discipline
- Auditors (Wirtschaftsprüfer) or consultancy background in ESG background preferred
- Languages: English mandatory, German beneficial
