Description
Gordon Brothers International, LLC has operational entities across EMEA and APAC and is seeking an experienced accountant for maternity cover on a 12-month contract, commencing in December 2024. This will be a hybrid role based in our London office, with an expectation of 3 days working in the office.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Gordon Brothers team as the selected candidate will play a key position within the finance team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for assisting the senior finance team in the timely and accurate delivery the monthly management accounts pack and completion of all associated tasks and processes.

Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions:
Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts including: Completion of month end processes in line with group reporting timetable and policies.
- Determination of monthly revenue recognition in line with group policies.
- Preparation of the month end workings file to provide a robust audit trail to support the accounts.
- Assisting in writing the management accounts commentary, explaining the key items within the financial statements and significant variance to budget.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements & tax computations for UK and overseas subsidiaries.
- Supporting the annual audit and accounts preparation for various UK based subsidiaries.
- Ensuring the accuracy of the company's underlying books and records including client accounts, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable & fixed assets register including the review of output from the more junior members of the team.
- Providing pro-active input into maintaining and improving the financial control environment across all group companies with particular focus the new subsidiaries.
- Liaison and associated tasks with other key contacts including project teams, staff in other offices / territories, banks, auditors, tax advisors & suppliers.
- Supporting the monthly VAT submissions
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- IT literate, software primarily include: Microsoft Office and specifically Excel, NetSuite, Concur.
- Organised and motivated, self-starter with the ability to take responsibility for all day-to-day & monthly tasks.
- Excellent communicator that can inspire confidence & is able to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels; finance team, directors, other staff, external suppliers etc.
- A focus on achieving deadlines by working efficiently, being flexible, and willing to work longer hours as and when required.
- Well organized, detail conscious, focused on delivering accurate results & able to 'self-check' all work before review.
- Able to demonstrate perseverance to resolve challenging tasks.
- Able to demonstrate a continued desire to learn, to improve themselves and the standards of the department.
Education & Experience:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferable, qualified by experience will be considered if experience covers the noted tasks above.
- At least 2-3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Fluency in German would be highly advantageous but not essential to the role.
