Job Purpose:
  • To help drive Investor Relations strategy and shareholder communications.
  • To provide analytical support and thought leadership to help Management develop and execute robust strategy plans
Principal Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables of Role:

Investor Communications - Coordinates the preparation and delivery of earnings calls, investor meetings, and presentations. - Acts as the primary contact for investor and analyst inquiries. - Manages the investor relations quarterly presentation, and section of the corporate website.

Disclosure Management - Develops and reviews financial reports including Annual Reports, regulatory filings, and public disclosures. - Collaborates with legal, finance, and compliance teams to ensure accurate and compliant disclosures. Stock Exchange(s) management (Bahrain Listing) including drafting and disseminating disclosures.

Market Monitoring and Research - Tracks the performance of the Bank's stock and provides regular feedback to management. - Analyzes market trends, competitor activities, and analyst reports.

Investor Targeting and Outreach - Identifies and targets new potential investors while maintaining relationships with existing shareholders. - Organizes and participates in investor roadshows, conferences, and meetings when needed.

Shareholder Communications - Develops and executes strategies for effective shareholder engagement. Coordinates with legal and governance teams for annual general meetings (AGMs/ EGMs) and proxy statements. Manage shareholders requests and the relationship with Bahrain Clear and Bahrain Bourse. Including the dividend distribution process. Manage the relationship with the shareholder registrar. Manage the relationship with the Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA).

Reporting and Feedback - Provides management with regular reports on investor perceptions, shareholding patterns, and feedback. - Assists in crafting management's response to investor inquiries and feedback.

Crisis Communication and Issue Management - Develops contingency plans for addressing market rumors or adverse events. - Support Group Comms in managing communication strategies during financial or reputational crises.

Analyst and Media Relations - Establishes strong relationships with equity research analysts and financial journalists. - Coordinates responses to media inquiries regarding financial performance.

Internal Collaboration - Works closely with Communications, finance, legal, compliance, and executive teams to align messages. - Ensures consistent messaging across all channels and departments. Conduct IR training when required.

By overseeing these dimensions and responsibilities, an Investor Relations and Shareholder Communications Manager plays a crucial role in shaping the company's image, ensuring transparent communication, and maintaining investor confidence.

Help Group Head of Corporate Communications on ad-hoc requests from senior management as required

Job Requirements:

Knowledge:
  • Very good communication and synthesis skills (both written and verbal - PowerPoint proficient)
  • Ability to build a well-structured financial model is a plus
  • Good business acumen and Financial Services awareness
  • Bilingual with excellent written and spoken English and Arabic

Education / Certifications:
  • MBA and/or Masters in finance/economics (CFA a plus)
Experience:
  • 5-10 years' experience in Banking and/or consulting/strategy roles
  • IR and shareholder relations experience / communication experience, Strategy and M&A experience are a plus
  • Experience in project management principles and the best practices leading to deliverable products that include briefings and documents
Personal Attributes:
  • Very strong analytical skills
    (ability for dealing with ambiguities, excellent conceptual and structural thinking)
  • Very good bilingual communication and synthesis skills (both written and verbal - Powerpoint proficient)
  • Ability to build a well-structured financial model is a plus
  • Good business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Ability to work under stress and tight/short deadlines
  • High energy and high emotional quotient
  • Team player and good ability to network across the bank to get things done and influence stakeholders to deliver
  • Native English speaker or very proficient - Arabic a plus
  • Autonomous with good sense of priorities
  • Self-driven and deliverables focus (ability to quickly build and deliver presentation decks with limited support)
  • Open to coaching and eager to learn
