Job Description
Our client is an ambitious, mid-sized multinational bank, who are looking for a Head of FP&A and Strategy to join their growing team. They are an FCA and PRA regulated business working with financial institutions, large corporate clients and governments. This role will be reporting directly to the CFO, covering for them in case of any absence, and has one direct report. You will play a crucial role in the strategic planning, decision-making, and performance measurement across the Bank. As a key strategic member of the Finance team, you will play a significant role in driving business growth through the provision of robust analysis, market intelligence, competitor analysis and business evaluation.

You will play a crucial role in the strategic planning, decision-making, and performance measurement across the Bank. As a key strategic member of the Finance team, you will play a significant role in driving business growth through the provision of robust analysis, market intelligence, competitor analysis and business evaluation.
Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts, to include monthly, quarterly and annual accounts.
- Monitoring and reporting on financial and operational performance, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Developing and maintaining financial models to support strategic initiatives and decision making.
- Conducting market analysis and competitive benchmarking to support decision making by Executive Management.
- Effectively and clearly communicate potential financial risks in a timely manner
Strategy, Business Partnering and Governance
- Working in partnership with the CFO, CEO and Senior Executives to initiate and implement Bank strategy.
- Planning, directing and organising activities in areas of responsibility by ensuring accountability and transparency, lean processes and organisational best practice.
- Acting as a commercial business partner to the Executive team to ensure profitable development whist maintaining the values of the Bank.
- Creating business models and strategies to further develop the profitability of the Bank.
- Setting high standards of control for all operational activity and implement clear measurement and is fully appraised of current performance, trends, market development, threats and opportunities.
- Monitoring and direct the implementation of Strategic Business Plans
Performance Management
- Developing and implementing performance management frameworks and provision of KPI data to track and improve business performance and technical support for annual appraisals
- Provision of support and insights for Monthly Performance Review Sessions for Executive Management.
- Drive initiatives to optimize performance and achieve financial targets.
- Partner with all senior stakeholders and business unit heads to measure and drive key performance metrics.
You will bring:
- Significant background within banking or regulated financial services, including experience of financial planning, strategic planning, MIS, budgeting, forecasting and trends, financial reporting and performance measurement.
- Proven experience within FP&A, ideally with international exposure in a global regulatory environment. Financial modelling is highly advantageous.
- Experience Business Partnering with senior stakeholders, and presenting at a board level.
- Experience in financial management and risk assessment, with time leading cross-functional teams
- Able to interpret of the Bank's aspirations into measurable details, and analyse performance against these.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to step up and cover for the CFO as required.
