The position is to provide day-to-day management of IFRS17 financial reporting at Prudential Vietnam.
The job holder will closely work with Group Head Office to ensure smooth IFRS 17 deliverables, understand, and contribute to regional IFRS 17-related methodology development and decision, contribute to the regional solution design through regular countries meetings and turn those into action items as local level.
The job holder will be the delegation of Chief Actuary in day-to-day management of IFRS17 financial reporting and ensure its successful delivery.

Job Responsibilities :

• Day to day management and successful delivery of IFRS17 reporting objectives at Prudential Vietnam, including but not limited to:

o Quarterly reporting, financial forecasts, KPI monitoring and tracking

o Business plan, sensitivities on actual financial statements/plan

o MI reporting to other stakeholders using relevant IFRS 17 data.

• Ensure there is suitable sponsorship, governance and oversight for the IFRS17 team, including:

o Local project plan timeline aligned to Group Day-2 roadmap

o Proposing local budget for Group-wide enhancement initiatives

o Delivery initiatives/projects to time and within budget

o Complete Group-wide Internal Audit, SoX, and external auditors' reviews with no major findings

o Support local Boards or Audit Committees and wider internal stakeholders to understand IFRS 17

• Actively manage IFRS 17 actuarial and finance team, focusing on retaining and developing talent/key person and closely monitor resource requirements

o All resources are effectively monitored and utilized

o Keeping the turnover rate of IFRS17 staffs at minimal level

o Identifying resourcing requirements and working with HR and/or using vendors actively to fill gaps.

• Closely working with the local workstream leads to ensure that all deliverables to Group Head Office are timely produced with high level of quality standard.

• Supporting the local management team and act as the first contact point to Regional office on IFRS 17 matter, and actively managing and coordinating the system change implementation plan, roadmap, handling changes as they arise by keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.

• Reviewing IFRS17 enhancements and implementation for actuarial and finance systems and processes, to ensure integrity and harmony between actuarial-related and finance-related data/data flow

• Review and refine IFRS 17 technical (both actuarial and finance) positions, directions and posting rules, and further tailor to local requirements if necessary.

• Establishing an effective governance and control structure, ensuring authorization of key documents by defined stakeholders.

• Ensuring that the right solution design for Prudential Vietnam is agreed in relevant committees held by Group Head Office. Keeping senior stakeholders informed of key decision made.

• Ensuring that respective BAU business, functional teams and capabilities are aligned to the policies, decisions and requirements arising from the project.

• Participate and contribute to Group IFRS technical forum as member

• Participate and contribute to varied PVA Committees where appropriate

Job Accountability:

This role is to ensure:

• All deliverables from Prudential Vietnam to Group Head Office in implementing IFRS17 at local level are submitted on time with high level of quality standard

Key project decision, risks and progress update are timely communicated to the Project Sponsor and relevant committees
