Business Overview of BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking - Energy, Resources & Infrastructure

The Energy, Resources & Infrastructure department is part of Real Assets EMEA. It is comprised of circa 130 professionals and has a leading position as adviser and arranger of limited-recourse financing solutions in the following main sectors across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region:
  • Energy: Power and Renewables, Battery Value Chain, Metals, hydrogen, Carbon Capture, Utilisation & Storage, Clean Fuel;
  • Infrastructure: Transportation, Utilities, Environment, Telecom Infrastructure, Social Infrastructure.
The team advises clients with respect to their debt financing needs, arranges and structures debt financing as mandated lead arranger, cross sells other products of the bank (including hedging and cash management solutions), acts as specialised coverage for certain clients and monitors its exposure to transactions on its book. The team is located in Paris, Brussels, London, Milan and Madrid.

ERI team in Italy is based in Milan and is in charge of origination, execution of debt advisory and arranging mandates, as well as portfolio monitoring of the transactions after closing. The team offers an opportunity to highly motivated interns to learn and develop analytical, legal, structuring, compliance and CSR skills.

Primary Responsibilities

Depending on the development of skills of each intern's, main tasks will progressively include:
  • Modelling and analysing cash flows, including running complex financial models (Excel);
  • Analysing the key risks (operational, financial, market, country, CSR, etc.) associated with counterparties' activity;
  • Monitoring existing transactions: collecting and analyzing updated information, preparing annual and semi-annual reviews, Know-Your-Customer checks, etc.;
  • Undertaking industry research in the relevant sectors;
  • Assisting in updating internal databasis and check data consistency;
  • Preparing pitch books (Power Point) and other marketing materials;
  • Contributing in the preparation of credit proposals (new deals).
What we expect from you
  • Education : Master's degree in economics; Master degree in Management Engineering (Specialization in Finance).
  • Behavioral skills : Rigorous, autonomous, willing to learn and entrepreneurial. Organised and synthetic. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, team player.
  • Technical skills : Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities; fluent English and Italian (written and spoken). Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Past internship experience in Investment Banking could be a plus.
Contract type and Remuneration

The offer will be a full time 6-months internship and it's dedicated to all students or recent graduates (twelve or less months after graduation).

The Company provide a monthly monetary contribution.
