The counterparty onboarding team sit in London, within the global COO team which oversees the trading operations of Brevan Howard . The counterparty onboarding team act as a central liaison point between various internal departments including legal, tax, risk, and compliance as well as the firm's external counterparties. They facilitate the various trading relationships of Brevan Howard's many funds to allow each fund to deploy its trading strategy effectively.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
The counterparty team are seeking a proactive individual to assist them with an upcoming onboarding project. The role involves engaging with senior stakeholders to implement and manage the priorities of the business, from a counterparty onboarding perspective, alongside driving progress in day-to-day tasks.
The selected individual will need to be adaptable with an eagerness to learn, as well as have a strong voice, to be at the forefront of idea generation and implementation as business needs evolve. Candidates should possess unwavering attention to detail, a high level of numeracy and literacy with the ability to remain calm and confident under pressure. Candidates need to have strong time and task management skills with the ability to react swiftly to the fast and ever changing environment the business operates within.
Candidates should have a strong interest in the area, with an understanding of how the industry operates. The counterparty onboarding role involves daily interaction with external financial institutions, acting as a first point of contact and representative for Brevan Howard, they therefore will need to have excellent communication, negotiation and problem solving skills. Candidates should feel comfortable managing multiple lines of communication, working with multiple counterparties concurrently under time pressure to set up accounts and trading facilities. Serving as a visible, approachable and accountable contact point within the business for counterparty onboarding is central to this role.
This role will develop as the needs of the business. As such, we expect the candidate to be flexible and open to change, with the current responsibilities envisaged as below:

- Managing organized outreach to counterparties
- Monitoring inbound communications to the counterparties team - actioning requests and liaising with relevant department where appropriate
- Answering queries, tracking progress, liaising on requirements
- Participating in project meetings
- Communicating progress of onboards to senior management and adjusting workflows to match the priorities they communicate
- Logging and actioning interactions
- Escalating risks where appropriate
- Chasing counterparts
- Managing priorities of various competing tasks
WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND. BUSINESS SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, such as Outlook and Excel

Desirable
- 2:1 Bachelor's Degree or international equivalent
- 3 years relevant work experience. Experience in Investor Relations, Investment Banking, Sales & Trading or Investment Management roles is desirable.
