Aon Japan is currently recruiting a Life Reinsurance Broking Actuary.

This role has the flexibility to be performed from our Tokyo, Japan office in a hybrid working model.

Applicants must legally authorized to work in Japan. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

This position acquires following responsibilities, but not limited to;
  • A core member of Aon's reinsurance broking team for the Japanese Life & Health market
  • Close collaboration with Aon's global Accident, Health and Life team to deliver solutions to clients
  • Build Client and Prospect Plans that identify and understand their objectives & needs (financial, commercial, capital, strategic...) and the opportunity pipeline
  • Articulate and further develop Aon's service offering and value proposition to existing and prospective Japan life (re)insurance clients.
  • Manage and develop relationships with clients at multiple levels
  • Analyse and structure the information (whether quantitative or qualitative) needed for implementing successful (reinsurance) transactions meeting clients' needs
  • Contribute in structuring optimal solutions (from traditional life reinsurance to non-traditional / innovative reinsurance solutions)
  • Articulate the risks and the economics of a transaction to potential reinsurers

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • University graduate or equivalent experience in Actuarial Studies or related fields such as Finance, Mathematics or Statistical studies
  • Experience in the life (re)insurance industry working in sales, consulting and/ or analytical roles (i.e. valuation, pricing). Reinsurance knowledge/experience would be a plus.
  • A strong understanding of accounting and regulation in Japan. Global perspective would be good to have.
  • Multi-lingual with business level English and Japanese
  • Self-motivated, holds oneself accountable and takes ownership for problem resolution, able to prioritize under pressure of competing deadlines.
  • A willingness and ability to build trust and cultivate relationships with clients and prospects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage all levels within internal and external organizations.
