Summary:
Under limited supervision (but works independently most of the time), responsible maturing data governance across the organization by implementing and maintaining the Data Management Program. Helps establish policies, standards and processes that will be developed and maintained to support the data governance function. Coordinates with Data Management, Data Delivery and Analytics to ensure consistent Data Governance across DM platforms and acts as a consultant to the Business. Advocates for the adoption of the Data Management Program across the Enterprise, including working with Data Governance Partners on implementation of Standards and the Policy. Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations. Point of contact for retention and information management queries and consulting needs Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations.

Major Duties
• Develops tools and processes used to maintain a common data standard across the organization
• Managing Records Information Management within the Enterprise
• Communicating updates to the Records Retention Schedule to the Enterprise
• Working with vendor within the Virgo app on consultations and reviews of regulation updates
• Work with application owners to build out retention strategies for their applications
• Metric reviews and escalations related to Data Management Program and Records and Retention Standard
• Assesses, manages, and maintains strategies that reduce data redundancy and increase the consistency/confidence of data used for decision making
• Defines and delivers data governance standards, policies, processes and controls
• Conducts periodic reviews and consistent oversight to ensure continued compliance with the data governance policies and standards (includes compliance assessments, monitoring, metrics and control testing)
• Resolves conflicting priorities among data owners, data consumers and custodians within sphere of the domain
• Coordinates across the organization in maintaining data governance structures ensuring we meet business needs while balancing quality, risk and cost
• Evaluates and makes recommendations on techniques, practices or technologies that would enhance data related business needs
• More technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areas
• Works closely with 2LOD on Privacy, Risk and Protection work
• Consults with the Business on both structured and unstructured data queries and retention
• Reviews citations for relevance and works with Legal to confirm requirements
• Prepares reports and tracks trends

Knowledge/Skills
• Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Management concepts
• Knowledge of Records Management
• Understands and effectively communicates the role of Data Governance to both business and technical communities within the sphere of the data domain
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
• Functional/Industry Knowledge is required
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel), SQL, Power Bi

Experience Required
• 24 months as Consultant
• A College or University degree and/or relevant demonstrated work experience
• Previous Financial Services Experience preferred
