- PR Strategy & Campaigns: Lead the execution of integrated PR strategies that align with the firm's business objectives, ensuring a strong and consistent presence across all media platforms.
- Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors, and industry influencers in legal, business, and trade media. Be the go-to person for media inquiries and manage proactive outreach to ensure coverage in high-profile publications.
- Press Releases & Communications: Draft compelling press releases, case studies, thought leadership articles, and media statements, translating complex legal topics into engaging, media-friendly content.
- Reputation Management: Manage the firm's external reputation, providing advice and support on issues related to crisis communications and sensitive public matters. Proactively monitor industry news to identify opportunities or threats.
- Internal Collaboration: Partner with marketing, business development, and practice group leaders to identify opportunities for media engagement, speaking opportunities, and content development that supports the firm's market positioning and practice group goals.
- Event & Thought Leadership Promotion: Work with partners and legal teams to promote key industry events, seminars, and publications where the firm is involved. Help position the firm's lawyers as thought leaders in their respective fields through strategic media placements.
- Reporting & Analysis: Regularly track and analyze media coverage, campaign performance, and PR metrics to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership. Use these metrics to refine strategies and maximize results.
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have a passion for media relations and public storytelling, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- PR Experience: A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in public relations, ideally within the legal, professional services, or corporate sectors - either agency or inhouse. Experience managing high-profile campaigns and dealing with sensitive issues is essential.
- Media Network: A well-established network of media contacts, particularly in business, legal, and trade publications. You should be comfortable building relationships and pitching to journalists at all levels.
- Communication Skills: Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content across multiple formats (press releases, articles, interviews, etc.). Exceptional verbal communication skills are also essential for liaising with stakeholders and media professionals.
- Crisis Management: Experience handling crisis communications and reputation management, with a calm and professional approach under pressure.
- Project Management: A natural multi-tasker, you will be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Digital PR & Social Media: Knowledge of digital PR strategies, social media, and content marketing is an advantage. The ability to integrate traditional and digital PR efforts for maximum impact will set you apart.
- Legal Sector Knowledge (desirable): While not essential, experience in or knowledge of the legal industry, particularly working with law firms or professional services, will be highly valued.
