How you succeed
Your role involves keeping us aligned with the industry's data compliance regulations and best practices through working with stakeholders to enhance our data compliance processes, capabilities, and systems to ensure the Bank is leveraging data as an enterprise asset to support its strategic decision-making and actions.
You will collaborate effectively across functions, teams, and countries to understand critical data aggregation and reporting processes, analyse end-to-end data flows, manage validation activities and diverse stakeholders.
What you do
As a second line of defence, the primary purpose of Group Data Validation is to certify that OCBC and its subsidiaries meet the full scope of BCBS 239 requirements.
The GDV Specialist will perform independent validation of key capabilities along critical data flows with engagements across various functions to validate data aggregation and reporting controls. This will include the tracking of outstanding issues and remediation of associated actions.
As part of a specialised team, you will also join the collective effort toward developing our Data Validation methodology.

Qualifications
Who you are
A subject matter expert of BCBS 239 principles, with experience in data governance, management and controls.
Other key experience and skills include:
- 5-10 years of experience in reporting of Credit Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, or regulatory reporting (eg MAS 637, MAS 610).
- Knowledge of banking systems architecture, system / process change management and end user tools.
- Good data analytical skills for assessing compliance of complex data flows.
- A critical thinker and problem solver with the ability to identify gaps and distil complex processes into effective solutioning opportunities.
- A good communicator, able to present assessment results and work with diverse stakeholders.
