Intro to Business Services

This role will sit in the Business Services Org within the Corporate Services Group. Our Org mission is to better enable success at GC by delivering technological prowess supported by a highly customer focused service. We'll be focused on driving CRM/Finance/Operations tooling transformation and finding further SaaS efficiencies through automation and integration.
The role

This is an exciting time to join Gocardless with the creation of the new Business Application Team within the Business Services division with the mandate to improve infrastructure, systems and processes. We are looking for a motivated, passionate Finance Systems Manager to develop and execute a strategic roadmap for the finance application portfolio, aligning it with business objectives and technology trends. This includes identifying opportunities for application modernisation, consolidation, and optimisation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of applications, from requirements gathering and design to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Own and manage the change advisory board for finance applications working closely with finance product owners to prioritise functional change requests.
  • Ensure applications meet quality standards, performance targets, and user expectations.
  • Collaborate with software vendors and third-party service providers to evaluate, select, and integrate off-the-shelf applications.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely delivery and support.
  • Establish and enforce policies, standards, and best practices for application development, deployment, and maintenance following industry best practices e.g. ITIL.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of application development projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
Required skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Finance.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in application management, with Netsuite ERP.
  • Strong working knowledge of finance applications. Netsuite is essential and other application experience such as Coupa, Expensify and Floqast is an advantage. Knowledge of Salesforce is beneficial.
  • Ability to communicate highly technical information to a functional / business audience
  • Experience of identifying and implementing significant process improvements to deliver quantifiable business improvement. Ability to solve problems and think analytically. Strong organisational, project, and time management skills.
  • Technical experience of managing core business applications ensuring they are secure, stable and fit for purpose. Ability to drive strategy based on industry best practice.
  • Outstanding ability in managing and monitoring business operations
  • Ability to research and interpret relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are required.
  • Very strong collaboration, negotiation, and influence capability required

Desirable Skills :
  • Integration, customization, and support experience.
  • Experience working with Agile development frameworks.
  • Preferred Certifications: NetSuite Financial User, Administrator.
  • RESTLet, and Workflow.
  • Preferred experience with Salesforce and Workato.
