Are you looking for a unique opportunity to join Swiss Re's Agriculture team in a technical role and contribute to the success of our global underwriting team? Do you have a quantitative background such as finance, mathematics, geosciences or agricultural economics with relevant experience in project management and tool development? Then, this role could be for you.

About the Role

In this role you will be part of the Agricultural Product Center supporting the global team in the development of methodologies, tools, and products, taking on project management roles and supporting the Agricultural Management Team.

Key responsibilities:
• Development and implementation of enhanced quantitative approaches for costing, pricing, forecasting and portfolio optimization.
• Shared responsibility for the agriculture underwriting tool landscape, including trainings, global roll out and adoption.
• Support the regional agriculture reinsurance teams on specific projects and deals.
• Development, structuring, costing, and pricing of index insurance products.
• Support the Agricultural Management Team on reporting and governance topics.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a proactive, transparent, and timely manner.

About the Team

The agriculture team is part of the Specialty Market Unit embedded in the P&C Reinsurance Business Units. Agriculture underwriters, responsible for EMEA, operate from Zurich (Switzerland). By joining us you will be part of a dynamic group of specialists and will benefit from profound experience.

About You

You are a self-motivated, flexible, and reliable teammate who is happy to collaborate and assist others. With an open, creative and commercial mindset, you thrive in an international reinsurance underwriting environment. Your excellent communication and organizational skills allow you to handle complex projects.

Essentials:
• University degree in a quantitative field such as finance, mathematics, geo science or agricultural economics
• Strong data science/analytic and problem-solving skills.
• Sound understanding of econometrics/statistics, previous exposure to quantitative finance methods an advantage.
• Advanced skills in Python or R as well as Microsoft Office.
• Experience in project management, automation, and tool development.
• Knowledge in working with AI is an advantage.
• Excellent oral and written English. Fluency in other languages is a plus.
