About the Role

This is your opportunity to join one of the world's leading reinsurers! As a member of the Intra-Group Retrocession (IGR) & External Retrocession team, you will be in the center of producing both local and group-wide financial statements, adhering to various financial standards (e.g. IFRS17/IFRS9/SST/Solvency II/Local Statutory). You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across Swiss Re's Finance, IT, and Risk Management departments.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the seamless quarterly production of financial statements for IGR and external retrocession with a focus on IFRS17
  • Validating and analyzing produced figures and serving as main point of contact for inquiries on the financial results of internal and external retrocession
  • Continuously improving processes related to IGR and external retrocession to enhance efficiency and accuracy for example by exploring the possibilities of applying new technologies
  • Supporting various initiatives and projects related to the financial reporting landscape

About the Team

We are an international team within Global Finance Operations & Transformation responsible for the financial reporting of intra-group and external retrocession. We collaborate closely with various colleagues in the Business Unit Finance teams, Group Reporting & Investor Relations, Treasury, Global Carrier Management & Tax, IT, and Risk Management. The wider team is based in Zurich, Munich, Bratislava, and Bangalore covering a diverse range of expertise and perspectives.

About You

We are looking for a proactive person with excellent problem-solving abilities and quick comprehension. The ideal candidate is adaptable, demonstrates good work ethics, can work independently, and is a true team player. Inherent motivation and a passion for continuous improvement are essential.

Skills:

  • University degree, preferably in finance, economics, actuarial science or another business-related field
  • Passionate about the (re-)insurance industry and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical abilities, a flair for technology, and problem-solving skill
  • Mature and self-confident, with the aptitude to express themselves efficiently in one-on-one conversations and in small groups as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Knowledge and interest in data science and programming complete your profile
