We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Enterprise-wide Frameworks Director.

The Governance and Frameworks team is responsible for driving consistency and quality across the Global Insurance Finance function, covering three key areas: Data and Model Governance, Corporate Governance, and Enterprise-wide Frameworks.

The role holder would be accountable for designing, implementing, and maintaining all Enterprise-wide Frameworks across Global Insurance Finance, including:
    • Designing and implementing frameworks that standardise, guide, and govern core finance processes, including reinsurance, hedging, stress testing, environmental scenario analysis and reporting, Annual Actuarial Basis Reviews, capital optimisation, etc.
    • Ensuring frameworks include sufficient, principles, standards, and guidance on (i) data, (ii) processes, (iii) controls, (iv) R&C and Governance, (v) analysis and MI requirements, (vi) roles, responsibilities, and engagement, and (vii) purpose and usage
    • Engaging key stakeholders across all lines of defence to ensure frameworks consider and reflect the requirements and expectations of relevant processes and regulations
    • Engaging core process owners to support with implementing and embedding frameworks within BAU practice
    • Acting as a 1LoD review and challenge of framework implementation and associated output to ensure consistency and quality across the function
    • Monitoring and, where required, updating frameworks on an ongoing basis for the latest industry and regulatory developments
The role holder would also be required to play a key role in driving broader team initiatives and contributing to its overall objectives:
    • 1LoD review of GI Finance Governance materials across committees to improve quality of materials, the efficiency of meetings, and the effectiveness of decision making.
    • Providing thorough technical 1LoD R&C across GI Finance outputs and materials (e.g. forecasts, actuals / disclosures, scenario analysis / stress testing, capital and liquidity management, ALM updates, reinsurance proposals, hedging proposals, early warning indicators / management action triggers, etc.).
    • Producing high-profile Global-level Insurance Governance materials (e.g., GAC, GRC)
    • Conducting ad-hoc, independent investigations into emerging / hot topics.
    • Engaging in frequent interaction with wider teams across Insurance (Business, Risk, Strategy, Capital, etc.) and the Bank.
    • Providing regular feedback, coaching and guidance and to act as the point of escalation to manage risks and issues.
    • Nurturing strong internal and external networks to stay abreast of sector developments, trends and leading practices to continuously enhance GI Finance Governance and frameworks, and operations of the team
    • Closely work with global and regional stakeholders in Global Insurance Finance
    • Professional relationships maintained at all times with all stakeholders such that they have confidence in the views, assessments and findings of the team.
    • Drive standardisation and consistency of approach across teams
    • Values diverse cultures and contributions, drives high standards of delivery in others.
    • Strong leadership of teams and projects through effective communication, collaboration, and planning / management.
Requirements

Requirements
    • Strong understanding of Insurance products / business models, accounting standards, actuarial concepts and techniques, and regulatory regimes (e.g., Risk-Based Capital)
    • Results-oriented with a strong focus on achieving measurable outcomes.
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines with multiple, important priorities.
    • Commercial awareness to ensure balance between business needs and effectiveness of Governance and frameworks.
    • Ability to effectively influence key stakeholders and establish credibility with senior management through constructive challenging and substantiating views with solid evidence / rationale.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to work effectively across geographies and matrix reporting lines.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Actuarial, Economics, or a related field
    • Solid experience in finance, with a strong technical background in life insurance and a proven track record of driving large-scale transformation / change
    • Proven track record of delivering high-quality output with buy-in from senior stakeholders
    • Experience working with globally dispersed teams and cultures
    • Experience working in, and navigating, large and complex global organizations, is highly valued
