About the Role
As a Principal Auditor in the APAC Chapter, your primary responsibilities will be, but not limited to, participating in a wide range of business and functional audit activities. This is a contract role for 6 months and in this role, you will be constantly challenged to learn new areas of Swiss Re, to assess the effectiveness of the relevant processes and controls, and to come up with workable solutions to any problems you may identify. For you, this role will be an opportunity to deal with themes that have organizational impact at the most senior level, driving the risk culture of Swiss Re. You will be an effective communicator, landing key and difficult messages with stakeholders, both verbally and in writing. Specific responsibilities will include:

Group Internal Audit provide independent and objective assurance that assists the Board of Directors and Group Executive Committee to protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the organization. We perform audit activities designed to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the Group's internal control systems, and to add value through improving the Group's operations.

- Contribute to the development of data analytics to assess control related outcomes and employ data hypotheses to test data sets with the audit team and Data team in GIA.
- Own audit task delivery within an agile audit team; your key tasks are to assess business processes and controls in scope of an audit, and to provide quality audit issues, clear audit reports, and compelling business insights to Senior Management and stakeholders; creating awareness around scrum value delivery.
- Exhibit expertise in GIA methodology and how to apply across the audit.
- Support annual FRR testing within the region.
- Participate in local, regional and global audits, positively impact the other GIA Chapters and using your areas of expertise to contribute effectively to GIA's audit plan.
- Participate in Agile / SCRUM methodology ceremonies within the Chapter to promote continuous learning and forward-looking assurance and coaching members of the team on individual subject matter themes.
- Participating in GIA's strategic initiatives and projects as opportunities arise.

About You
- 5+ years of work experience in audit, other assurance function or professional capacity related to the (re)insurance industry
- For more experienced candiates we will consider a Senior Auditor role
- Good knowledge of (re)insurance, and it's governance, risks and controls
- Good understanding of regulatory environments in APAC
- Experience in data analytics (data extraction, manipulation, analysis, testing of hypothesis)
- CPA, CA, CIA or professional certification (preferred)
- University degree (preferred)
- Critical thinker that sees the "big picture" (e.g. overall themes, trends, goals)
- Agile mindset, generating creative ideas and solutions to problems and making recommendations despite complexity
- Result oriented, able to plan well, work in the field and deliver results in time
- Professional communicator, able to gain and maintain a trusted relationship while delivering difficult messages
- Structured analyst, capable to adopt and use data-driven auditing including data analytics to assess risks, scope audits and test controls
- Team player, able to listen to others but also influence in order to see the wider picture and achieve a vision
- Fluency in English
