Purpose of Role:

Report and provide insights related to client profitability, return on capital and Investment Services product profitability to a wide group of stakeholders, while continuing to develop and foster a strong culture of risk excellence. These insights have a direct impact on client and product level decision-making.
The role oversees P&Ls at the client level (Client P&L), the product level (Product Profitability) and ROC reporting at the client level

Key responsibility areas include but are not limited to the following:
Experience / Skills
  • Bachelor/master's degree in finance / accounting. CA/CPA preferred.
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, experience in implementing finance systems, Merger integration, Tax and regulatory compliances.
  • Own all aspects of client profitability reporting including working with Revenue GAO (Global Accounting Operations), Business line CFO, and other partners to pull together a comprehensive and accurate Client P&L. This individual will need to bring together groups from different organizations and ensure they are working together to achieve a common goal!
  • Manage migration to a new system and find ways to enhance the process to allow for more automation and create a tool that is truly value add to the business partners. A creative and change mindset will be important.
  • Identify ways to streamline processes across all three areas (Client and Product P&Ls and ROC)
  • Create a structure that allows for transparency to the end users (Client Executives, other finance partners) on a complex process; Includes active engagement on a Client P&L Advisory Council
  • Establish forums to allow with Client Executives, Finance Partners to understand the drivers of the P&Ls for their clients, ensure incentives are aligned with good decision making.
  • Collaborate with Global Accounting Operations, DOST and Technology teams to identify better ways of structuring data and processes- current key projects include RAW implementation, EAW implementation, HPCM to PCM migration and Migration from bespoke client identifier (CDMS ID) to organization wide adopted GEMS ID.
Managerial Capabilities:
  • Establish strong relationships and communication mechanisms with partners across other teams and foster that communication in the Client P&L team members
  • Develop effective working relationships and communications with staff and ensure that staff are motivated, developed and supported
  • Establish and monitor systems of control, delegated authority and escalation procedures so that the business complies with internal policies and external regulations and can be managed effectively
  • Ensure an effective oversight framework is in use to ensure that issues are appropriately identified, escalated and resolved.
  • Nurture a culture of 'Risk Excellence' within the team, encourage an environment of openness that welcomes effective challenge and supports open discussion
  • Create a culture of individual ownership of tasks to embed a clear individual sense of accountability into staff members' behavior in performing their roles
