The primary purpose of the role is to complete various tasks including daily bank reconciliations, asset reconciliations, and time to time, Business Activity Statements and other ad hoc accounting related tasks associated with superannuation funds.
Fund Accountant plays an important role in supporting the integrity of the Accounting and other data held within the Superannuation Administration which is mainly used by the Accounting and Tax team. Ensuring the data held within the above system, associated with Cash and other assets held on behalf of members, is reconciled with the various bank accounts and custodians that hold these assets on behalf of Superannuation Funds. This data is mainly used by members of the Accounting and Tax Team in completing various Accounting related tasks and reporting for each Super Fund. This role may, from time to time, help in the completion of these Accounting related tasks when required.

Some of the awesome things you'll be involved with:
- Completion of Daily Bank Account reconciliations and the efficient and timely management of exceptions associated with these reconciliations
- Completion of monthly asset reconciliations and the efficient and timely management of exceptions associated with these reconciliations
- Liaise directly with all processing teams regarding the investigation and clearance of exception items identified by the above reconciliation processes
- Liaise with internal and external parties regularly to obtain information for reconciliation purposes
- Assisting other accountants and senior staff with ad hoc reconciliations and accounting tasks
- Ad-hoc fund accounting tasks
What you will bring:
- 2+ years fund accounting experience preferred
- Practical knowledge in reconciling large data base and amalgamating subsidiary ledgers
- Sound understanding of investment markets and the broader finance industry
- An understanding of distributions, tax provisioning for superannuation funds
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Preferred knowledge and experience in Audit for Superannuation/investments
- Client delivery and service experience
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
- CPA (preferred for future advancement but not necessary)
