BHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity as a Financial Analyst/Financial Analyst 2/Sr Financial Analyst at our headquarters in Glen Allen, VA.
Responsibilities
This role is responsible for supporting business and commercial strategies. The role utilizes and develops analytical tools (financial pro formas, NPV analysis, etc.) to provide analysis that supports informed financial decisions related to business strategies, risk analyses and deal pricing and structuring.

Responsibilities
This role is responsible for supporting business and commercial strategies. The role utilizes and develops analytical tools (financial pro formas, NPV analysis, etc.) to provide analysis that supports informed financial decisions related to business strategies, risk analyses and deal pricing and structuring.
Some duties will include:
- The primary function of the role is to determine and evaluate financial impacts for a variety of projects across the business through the use of financial modeling. This work supports decisions making on major capital investments, regulatory initiatives, asset acquisition, and divestiture opportunities.
- Builds and maintains analytical tools (financial pro formas, regulatory models, NPV analysis, etc.) to provide fundamental financial business and risk analyses to support business strategies. Tasks are often complex, dynamic and abstract in nature.
- Works with commercial team leads to develop presentations which outline potential opportunities and the financial analysis in support of decision making.
- Acts as liaison to Accounting, Tax, Credit, Regulatory, Risk, Operations, Commercial and Legal departments ensuring comprehensive and effective subject matter due diligence.
- Assists department leadership in managing the governance approval process for all projects and transactions meeting the established value threshold.
- Other support functions include project lookback analysis, supporting regulatory initiatives, and supporting various other projects and initiatives requiring financial/economic evaluation in support of decision making and strategy. This position often supports other specialized studies of global factors that could influence the business financial strategies including regulatory risks or general market risks on assets.
- This role requires a thorough understanding of financial statements (income statement, cash flow statement, and balance sheet), and the ability to pro form financial statements. Often requires building and customizing financial models to meet requests.
Qualifications
Financial Analyst:
- At least 3 years related experience.
- Knowledge of financial management and analysis, utility and/or relevant industry, and accounting standards and practices.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Teaming, analytical, and customer focus skills.
- Some expertise in consolidated financial planning and analysis, capital allocation, project financial analysis, M&A analysis, due diligence process, and understanding of accounting, tax and financing principles.
- Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Aptitude for continuous learning.
Education
Bachelor (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)

Accounting, Business, or Finance
Financial Analyst II:
- At least 4 years related experience.
- Certification or advanced degree such as CPA, MBA or CFA beneficial.
- Two or more years related work experience in public accounting, financial forecasting, financial modeling, and/or financial analysis.
- Strong accounting and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of financial analysis methods and tools.
- Advanced software skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to utilize advanced modeling techniques, such as programming, to automate model functionality.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical skills to effectively monitor developments in forecasted and actual data, and the ability to draw logical conclusions from analysis.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Education
Bachelor (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)

Sr. Financial Analyst:
- At least 5 years related experience.
- Knowledge in financial management and analysis, utility and/or relevant industry, and accounting standards and practices.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Teamwork, analytical, and customer focus skills.
- Ability to work under limited supervision and direction.
- Demonstrated expertise in consolidated financial planning and analysis, capital allocation, project financial analysis, M&A analysis, and due diligence process.
- Understanding of accounting, tax, and financing principles.
- Extensive knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Aptitude for continuous learning.
