ABOUT THE ROLE

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Tax professional to join our Policy and Advocacy team. You will play a crucial role in strengthening our influence on tax reforms by delivering consistent, high-quality policy and advocacy outputs on taxation issues that sustain and enhance the influential positioning of CA ANZ and the CA designation, within the profession, government, media and across the broader community.

Key responsibilities:

  • Advocacy & Policy: Contribute to CA ANZ's advocacy and thought leadership through research, strategic policy development and submission preparation.
  • Member Engagement: Engage with members at various levels to assist understanding of key national and global policy issues and enable members to support their clients
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Deliver high-quality policy projects and initiatives
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and manage relationships with members, government departments, regulators, political advisors and other stakeholders.
  • Planning: Develop and implement strategy for short and long-term policy changes.
  • Make change happen -Spearhead change, develop, plan and implement strategy for the short term and long-term policy landscape.

ABOUT YOU

To thrive in this role, you'll need a deep understanding of taxation and a strong desire to influence policy. You will possess:

  • 5-10 years' experience working in the tax profession, with demonstrated experience in a range of taxes
  • A law degree, and preferably a Master of Taxation or Laws
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills and the ability to quickly interpret large volumes of information.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
  • Well-developed stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • Curiosity and comfort with uncertainty and navigating conflicting views
