We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager - COP CLCM Performance Management.

Principal Responsibilities

This role will report to and work with the Global Head of Personal Banking and CLCM within WPB and will be a key contributor to the planning and communication of the CLCM strategy. The primary accountability of this role is to drive strategic planning, manage business performance delivery and support the communication of strategic planning and commercial delivery to senior management and across the organisation
  • The role holder will deliver this through active planning & analysis as well as performance management working with key senior stakeholders and markets within the DA&CRM / Finance / CLCM function
  • The role holder actively supports the Global Head of Personal Banking and CLCM in achieving the vision and objectives of the function
  • Additionally, it is expected that the role holder will act as a bridge between Finance and Other Business units to drive holistic Growth agenda of WPB
  • The individual will leverage global teams and market talent to input to the strategy, drive execution of the strategy and communicate progress. This role is multi layered in terms of purpose and functionality
In this Role, you will be doing:

Strategic business analysis and design:
  • Understand WPB & RB strategy, imperatives and vision, and translate these into strategic planning, business performance management and implementation roadmaps
  • Work collaboratively across multiple teams to ensure planning and delivery of the strategic roadmap and business objectives
  • Support Performance & planning analysis for COP/CLCM
Tracking & Managing Delivery of Strategic Objectives:
  • Orchestrate COP/CLCM customer metrics reporting with particular focus on the financial reporting discipline of the customer metrics for multiple processes
  • Work closely with DA&CRM team and Business Finance to ensure robust reporting of customer metrics both financial and non-financial supporting the CLCM strategy. Help connecting the dots between the finance systems and analytical databases
  • Create robust management information and analysis of key trends providing insight to Senior management. Take end to end ownership of monitoring engagement progress to ensure alignment with the desired outcomes. Anticipate potential risks and issues and take action to mitigate these
  • Create and deliver impactful messages to senior stakeholders. Simplify complex information into clear and concise messages using appropriate tools and techniques to deliver desired outcome
  • Maintain and build strong network with key internal stakeholders, enabling execution at pace and be seen as a key influencer. Take ownership of stakeholder relationships, managing their expectations as required and collaborate with various teams to deliver the right outcomes
Drive Commercial Value:
  • Identify, quantify, assess and evaluate potential short, medium and long-term opportunities to deliver financial improvements for the business. Understand the commercial purpose and priorities of the organisation, both now and in the future
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes and promote guidance and direction of process management to create synergy between different areas
  • Leverage key relationships with DA&CRM, Business Finance other functions to support performance improvement and commercial benefit
  • Enable and facilitate constructive cross-country and cross-business collaboration working with group, regional and local market teams

  • Bring structure to make problems easier to solve and recommend long term solutions
  • Lead and influence a wider team, promoting systematic thinking, creativity and cross-functional collaboration
  • Provide support and guidance in an environment that is often non-routine, delegated and has conditions of uncertainty

Requirements

This role requires strategic thinking, senior management influencing, clear and concise communications, sharp analytical skills and an ability to use data to provide actionable insights to drive performance. To be successful, you should meet the following requirements:
  • At least 10 years business consulting or related experience - working on related initiatives in Financial Services or other large complex organisations
  • Degree level qualification in finance, analytics and/or business studies related discipline preferred. Solid understanding of performance & planning, experience in financial reporting and knowledge of finance systems and good understanding of customer data. Passionate about the customer and obsessed with customer outcomes
  • Ability to work independently to take an ambiguous, business problem and define a clearly structured, logical approach to address it. Able to build an ambitious but realistic project plan, and self-motivated to deliver against it
  • Proven strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to structure and solve problems based on facts/data including strategic analysis/interpretation, prioritization of ideas/initiatives, consideration of best practices, and develop recommendations. Confident to define, structure and execute quantitative analysis, represent the results to communicate key messages
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas proficiently. Ability to create and deliver strong presentations that communicate complex concepts in a simple to digest fashion for senior stakeholders. Ability to distil complex business and customer environment into simple, strategically sound and insight led stories
  • Ability to navigate the organisation across functions and markets with strong stakeholder management skills. Ability to bring key stakeholders and functional colleagues with them as strategies and plans are developed
  • Experience in managing self and others and directing work efforts to achieve objectives and maximize productivity. Results orientated and solution driven. Self-starter with energy and drive in a challenging and dynamic environment
  • Demonstrate strong business knowledge and sound business sense. Be knowledgeable about HSBC environment and the external environment that could impact HSBC
