The Role:
The successful candidate will be part of a team that is responsible for corporate accounting for the Luxembourg legal entities and oversight of group finance services. This role is responsible for statutory and regulatory reporting of M&G's Luxembourg legal entities.
This is a key role within Luxembourg Finance. The role holder will therefore need to be flexible and proactive and contributing to define, establish and evolve the necessary procedures, processes and reporting framework.

- Accountable for providing a quality service or product to customers and stakeholders, using skills/experience built through significant practical experience or training
- For team leaders, accountable for ensuring the team the role supports is delivering a quality service or product
- Works within established frameworks and procedures, with the freedom to interpret them to solve a range of problems
- Delivers outputs that are clearly defined, using discretion over how to achieve them
- Makes suggestions for improvements to the work of the team, based on previous experience and knowledge of similar situations
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- Preparation of Financial statement
- Support annual external and Internal audit reviews
- Prepare month-end Financial pack, balance sheet reconciliations and general accrual bookings.
- Monthly oversight of income accounting and billing activities.
- P&L analysis as part of the team's monthly financial control protocol
- Prepare and file regulatory reports to the CSSF
- Review and update of department processes and procedures to accommodate business changes.
- Assist Senior accountants with ad hoc reporting obligations to management and group finance, this included monthly results analysis, statutory / regulatory filings, VAT returns, etc as required.
- Participation in ad hoc projects and assistance in provision of information to auditors and closure of audit points
- To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G's operational risk.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Experience preparing financial statements
- Demonstrates working knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP and/or IFRS
- Ideally bi-lingual to include English plus either French or German.
- Strong Excel Skills
- Experience of SUN and Business Intelligent tools (desired)
- Financial Services experience (desired)
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage tightly controlled processes
- Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to work accurately under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to take initiative and manage own workload
- Ability to identify problems and drive to follow them through to resolution
- Some experience of actively seeking out opportunities to learn about new developments and develop knowledge
