Financial Controller - Leader of Distribution - BRU Region

Our client is an international leader of the distribution & supply chain sector.

With new offices in the Brussels region and an extensive European presence, they provide full flexibility and a commitment towards homeworking for the Finance & Accounting team.

Job Description

• Finalize monthly, quarterly and yearly closings, supervising the accounting activities prepared by GL Accountants
• Analyze and report on monthly variances relative to P&L and Balance sheets accounts
• Present these financial reportings towards BE board and EU-level Finance Committee
• Perform monthly and yearly VAT calculations and returns
• Prepare the yearly statutory financial statements and tax returns (with support from Tax Department)
• Act as Accounting & Finance Business partner towards Managing partners and internal clients, when needed
• Participate in the continuous improvement of processes and IT tools

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor in Accounting (a Master's Degree in Finance / Business Management is a non-mandatory asset)
• Fluency in English is mandatory
• Fluency in French and/or Dutch is an asset, but not mandatory
• At least 5 years of experience in a GL / Senior Accountant / Financial Controller position
• Strong command of BEGAAP standards (IFRS or USGAAP knowledge is a non-mandatory asset)
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Team-player, able to think on a local and EU-level, with the ability to go beyond a pure "actuals" mindset
