Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced engineers at all levels with strong cloud and devops sills to join our team.

The successful candidate will be a part of the team responsible for ensuring Canada Life UKs Cloud Platform is best in class!

You will be working at every stage of a product lifecycle deployment, from conception, design, implementation, testing and through to operational support.

CLUK Are currently embarking on a Migration to Cloud so much of the work will be supporting our product teams with these migrations. We have a Cloud First mentality, so where possible re-design is our first choice.

With Automation at the heart of everything the CLUK cloud team are doing, you should have strong understanding of CI/CD tools, and IaC like Bicep.

We currently use Azure, so are looking for mainly Azure experience, though strong experience in any cloud is welcome. CLUK are hoping to move to multi-Cloud in the not-too-distant future.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Azure using BiCep and CI/CD Pipelines
  • Develop automation scripts for deployment and maintenance of cloud infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
  • Participate in technical discussions and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Document system configurations and processes
  • Provide support to other teams as needed.
  • Providing training and guidance for Junior and less experience team members in CLUK
Requirements
  • Experience in cloud infrastructure engineering at larger enterprises
  • Strong understanding of Azure and related services
  • Experience with BiCep or other IaC deployments, with experience providing IaC as a service to developer teams.
  • Strong understand of Ci/CD Pipeline tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions (or similar)
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and/or Python
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus.
