We're seeking a future team member for the role of Accounting Associate to join our Finance team. This role is located in Tokyo, Japan (HYBRID).

As part of the Controllers team in Tokyo, this role support various accounting and financial reporting activities for the Japan based entities which include a Bank branch, Securities company and a number of Investment Management entities. The role is responsible for preparing or reviewing accounting journals, preparing financial and regulatory reporting and ad hoc tasks for the entities.

The role will also be responsible for account reconciliation, executing internal controls over accounting process, financial reporting and regulatory reporting. The candidate will need to work closely with offshored accounting groups supporting their legal entities.

The candidate will face the rapidly changing regulatory environment. Be flexible to participate in projects and process changes.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Support legal entity, line of business, country/regional reporting
  • Prepare or review journal entries, reconciliations completed by Global Finance Center of Excellence in India
  • Actively resolve reconciliation breaks and ensure clearance timely and properly
  • Prepare tax schedules and ad hoc reports requested by management, auditors and tax examiners
  • Support the implementation of new or revised reporting, accounting policies and system projects
  • Assist in record management, procedure maintenance and other administrative tasks

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Accounting concentration preferred.
  • 2-3 years of work experience, preferred in the banking or securities industry, knowledge of USGAAP an advantage.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Excel and strong data analytical skill
