My client is a growing Chinese Financial Institution firm based in Hong Kong, set to operate under SFC licenses 1, 2, 4, and 9. With a focus on innovation and excellence, they are dedicated to providing top-notch financial services to their clients in the dynamic financial landscape of Hong Kong and China. They are now seeking a seasoned and dynamic Financial Controller or CFO to kick-start and lead the Finance department, to oversee the accounting and finance control function. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial and management reporting within the organisation.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage and supervise the accounting and finance control function, including overseeing day-to-day financial operations.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with SFC regulations and reporting standards.
  • Implement efficient processes to streamline financial reporting and enhance overall financial transparency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business growth initiatives and optimize financial performance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Must have CPA qualification / Qualified Accountant
  • 15+ years proven experience in a financial controller or similar role within the SFC licensed corps in financial services industry
  • In-depth knowledge of SFC regulations and reporting requirements
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems.
