Working with a leading $5B community bank based in Boston that is currently seeking to hire a Financial Risk Oversight Officer for their Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team in a second line of defense role. This independent contributor will collaborate closely with the First Line of Defense's Liquidity and Market Risk teams, focusing on enhancing financial risk oversight. The role involves ensuring that risk management practices align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, while supporting the continued development and maturity of ERM activities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the development and execution of a comprehensive financial risk program, focusing on market, liquidity, and interest rate risks.
  • Ensure proper identification, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of liquidity and market risks aligned with the Bank's risk appetite and policies.
  • Provide oversight and challenge to the First Line Treasury team to ensure effective governance and compliance with ERM policies and regulatory guidance.
  • Develop and monitor liquidity and market risk metrics, including key risk indicators for reporting purposes.
  • Participate in risk assessments, audits, regulatory exams, and ensure compliance with liquidity and market risk management practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance risk identification, assessment, reporting processes, and monitor risk exposures and emerging risks.

Requirements:
  • 5-7+ years of experience in First Line Treasury/ALM functions or Second Line liquidity and market risk oversight within an ERM role at a financial institution
  • Skilled in developing and executing risk assessment frameworks.
  • Proficient in credit analysis and related software tools.
  • Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) systems
  • Strong knowledge and experience in liquidity and market risk practices, including modeling and Treasury management.
  • In-depth understanding of the banking industry and regulatory guidelines for liquidity and market risk management.
