In your new role as Finance Manager, provide strong finance business partnering by providing greater insights through strategic financial advice, analytics and financial forecasts which guide decision making in Guild Insurance Limited
A summary of your core accountabilities (a full position description is available on request )
Business partnering for the general insurance business:
- Serve as the Business Partner for GIL, providing insights on expense management and supporting business units in driving performance and growth
- Oversee the preparation and management of the Strategic Plan, Business Plan, and monthly GIL management accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting and insights.
- Lead monthly reporting and performance analysis, collaborating with the ILT to implement initiatives that enhance business outcomes.
- Manage the proactive assessment and reconciliation of reinsurance arrangements, insurance acquisition cashflows, and claims valuation reporting.
- Support strategic initiatives through financial modelling, and prepare key financial documents, including the ILT paper, AM Best annual rating review, and board papers for GIL.
Tax/Statutory/Regulatory
- Provide insights on tax planning, risk mitigation strategies, and proactively manage capital through forecasting.
- Support the Head of Finance in preparing GIL Financial Statements and annual workers' compensation returns for TAS and WA.
Stakeholder Management
- Foster strong relationships with ILT, leadership, and stakeholders across the business while maintaining high levels of judgement in communications.
- Build and maintain external networks, staying updated with industry best practices, and cultivating a strong relationship with the Group Actuary.
Your background and experience:
- You're a seasoned senior finance business partner with some experience gained in the insurance arena.
- Tertiary Qualification in finance/accounting and ideally CPA/CA qualified.
- You are a natural influencer; you can demonstrate how you quickly build credibility and strong relationships with senior stakeholders
- You thrive in an environment that offers a great deal of accountability, ownership and where you and the work you do is highly visible.
