Are you fascinated by how the financing of commodities trading is akin to the oiling of a well tuned vehicle?

This is an established energy trading house, and they are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join their team in Singapore as a Settlements / Trading Finance Executive, supporting the end to end scope of trade finance, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial transactions.

Role

The Settlements / Trading Finance Executive will be part of a high calibre-team and perform the following duties:

• Prepare, review, and process LC documentation in compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
• Work closely with various stakeholders, including banks, traders, and logistics teams, to facilitate smooth LC transactions.
• Stay updated on international trade regulations and banking practices to ensure compliance.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with LC transactions, contributing to the overall risk management strategy.
• Liaise with banks and financial institutions to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely LC settlements.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including trading, finance, and legal, to streamline communication and optimize processes.
• Proactively identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the LC function.
• Implement best practices to enhance the overall effectiveness of LC operations.

Requirements

The successful incumbent will possess a degree in a finance discipline (accounting, finance and economics) with at least 3 years of trade settlements / trade finance operations experience within financial instituitions or commodities trading. You will have experience handling LCs, documentary collections, and issuance of letters of credit. You will be meticulous, possess strong analytical skills in trade finance and be able to work under time pressure. Strong communication skill and a dynamic team player will be highly desirable.
