Summary:
This role will report into the Global Service Center Manager. The Invoicing & Payments team in the Global Service Center is responsible for supporting the Regional Service Centers in invoice calculations, creation & uploads adjustments, reviews & approvals, cancellation & credit notes, accounting and queries. In addition, the team is responsible for payments matching, accounting, direct debit handling, refunds, recharges and dispute management. This role will be working closely with the Global Governance team and the Regional Service Center teams. There will also be the need to assist the Global Governance and RSC teams with month-end responsibilities and other business and system projects as required. This leader must possess the leadership and organizational skills required to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff in addition to conducting performance management and career development processes and staffing and disciplinary actions.

Major Duties:
• Assign tasks to technical coordinators, senior analysts and analysts.
• Reviews and approves invoice setups
• Reviews and approves payment accounting and exception handling
• Assists with responses to client service requests for managing disputes
• Organize the workload and set short term priorities. Monitor the progress of all activity and ensure timely and accurate completion of the work.
• Escalate to senior leadership any issues as required
• Liaise with Global Governance, Regional Service Centers and other Global Service Center teams to ensure that Northern Trust policies and Service • • • • • Agreements are being met correctly on a monthly basis
• Provide input into the performance management process and staffing decisions.
• Provision of timely and accurate fee team reporting to the global organization
• Approve journals for the team, and provide an oversight to the invoicing process, ensuring that all controls are adhered to, and that any exceptions are documented
• Prepare the KPI reporting for distribution to Fee Management on a monthly basis, with the appropriate level of comment and analysis
• Ensure all GSC process documentation is kept up to date and provide oversight of GSC processes to ensure controls are adhered to.
• Acts as the first point of escalation for GSC related risk and control related matters for the department
• Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact; delivers a work product that requires little revision
• Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other more junior level employees
• Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions
• Provides input and support to budget management process
• Responds to partners and client inquiries regarding invoices and payments and provides regular cash reconciliations to management.
• Liaise and provide documentation to audit as necessary.

Job Requirements:
• Degree with MBA or Finance preferred and 5+ years of experience
• Recent experience in a financial accounting environment, including debtor control, invoice preparation, preparation of reconciliations and resolving differences and accounting entries
• Previous staff management experience.
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to consult with partners and clients as well as regulators and auditors
• Leadership and organizational skills are needed to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills are required
• Excellent Excel skills required
