Perpetual Group is an ASX-listed company (ASX:PPT) headquartered in Sydney, Australia, currently consisting of 11 leading brands across three distinct businesses: Asset Management, Wealth Management and Corporate Trust.

Following the completion of a comprehensive Strategic Review in May 2024, it was announced that Perpetual Limited will become a standalone Asset Management business, and has entered into an agreement with an affiliate of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) who will acquire the Corporate Trust and Wealth Management businesses.

About the role

An exciting opportunity to be part of Perpetual Corporate Trust, in the role as Senior Client Associate. Our corporate trust business is a leading provider of fiduciary and digital solutions to the banking and financial services industry in Australia and Singapore. It administers securitisation portfolios, investment and debt structures to protect the interests of our clients' investors. Corporate trust supports clients locally and overseas with a unique offering through five key service offerings: Debt Market Services; Managed Fund Services; Perpetual Asia, headquartered in Singapore; Perpetual Digital, and Laminar Capital.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to the Client Management team and delivering superior client service, ensuring all trustee obligations/operational activities are met in a timely manner and in compliance with Perpetual policies.

About the Role

As an Senior Associate, you will:
  • Assist the Client Managers and the Senior Client Managers in servicing the book of clients (and have the opportunity to manage your own small book)
  • Undertake assigned activities to ensure full compliance with trust obligations
  • Administer trustee activities in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Develop a sound understanding of the legal, regulatory and operational frameworks in place that govern funds
  • Monitor and complete all compliance requirements for allocated clients/funds
  • Manage payments with internal and external custodians
  • Build and maintain operational relationships with allocated clients
  • Ensure working knowledge of all clients "owned" by the team to provide back-up and operational flexibility
  • Involvement in ad-hoc projects as required
  • Complete CSA testing in accordance with the CSA testing cycle timeframes
  • Manage and complete all allocated trustee obligations in compliance management system in a timely manner
  • Assist with maintenance of data in compliance management system (ClientConnect)
  • Assist in managing finance matters; including debtors, expenses and billing across the client management team including the collection and collation of data required
  • Assist in the preparation of board reporting packs/memos
  • Maintain key scheme documents records in accordance with Policy requirements, including maintaining central unit registry for wholesale trusts.

About you

We're looking for someone with:
  • Minimum 3-4years' experience in Financial Services or related experience
  • Knowledge of fund structures and experience within the managed funds industry (including custody, fund administration, registry, audit, investment operations)
  • Prior experience within commercial property, corporate banking, accounting or tax highly desirable
  • Excellent client management skills and relationship management experience
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail.
