The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization plays an important role as trusted business partners to businesses, supporting all analysis, reporting, and business planning needs. We produce budgets, forecasts; create and analyze business metrics and identify cost savings opportunities; deliver economic insight into the relationships between costs and revenues to improve the financial success of the business going forward.

BlackRock is seeking an Associate to join the APAC Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Team, based in Singapore. The APAC FP&A team plays a critical role as a trusted business partner working closely with Regional Executive, Sales, Investment and Product leadership as well as with teams across our operational platform. FP&A leads business analysis, reporting, forecasting, planning, inform decision-making, and communicates effectively with key partners. This also includes playing a major role in linking FP&A with global teams across Finance (Controllers, Tax, Treasury). This position is structured to build an extensive knowledge of the business, provide analytical insights to business partners to support decision making, and drive the budget/forecast processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Partnering: day-to-day support of our main partners across the APAC platform on all financial matters
  • P&L Planning: support decision-making and closely monitor business performance in collaboration with our Central FP&A, APAC Sales and Investment teams
  • Performance Analysis: production of detailed analysis/presentations for senior management highlighting key drivers and insights
  • Reporting & Analytics: proactively seek opportunities to optimize our reporting suite and develop tools to assess business performance. Build cohesive narratives in communicating results to stakeholders and present data in a simple and clear manner
  • Projects/Ad-hoc Requests: lead projects independently and partner with the business management functions on ad hoc requests and initiatives

Key Requirements:
  • BA/BS with outstanding record of achievement; Master's degree a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services sector and/or FP&A experience within an outstanding firm
  • Strong understanding of financial statements (P&L, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet)
  • Advanced Excel modelling skills required; experience with IBM Cognos TM1 and visualization tools a plus (e.g. MS PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos Analytics)
  • A self-starter with organizational, quantitative and problem-solving skills and an ability to translate complex business requirements into concrete plans
  • An excellent communicator with a growth mindset to navigate within a sophisticated matrix environment
  • Ability to work efficiently with a multitude of partners and build meaningful working relationships with team members, managers, and senior executives in multiple offices
  • Attention to details with high standards for quality and accuracy in results
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced and exciting environment with a dedicated commitment to excellence
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and in a constantly evolving environment to meet deadlines
  • An outstanding teammate with a professional, positive demeanor and a strong work ethic
