As a Finance Editor at Canstar Group, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, engaging finance content that meets the needs of our consumers. You'll be instrumental in executing key content strategies, working closely with the Editor-in-Chief to pitch and develop timely articles based on trending news cycles and search insights. Your focus will be on simplifying complex financial topics, making them accessible to everyday Australians.
In addition to content creation, you'll support and coach our team of writers, ensuring content accuracy, clarity, and compliance with journalistic standards. You'll also work on integrating AI tools into the team's workflow, contributing to process automation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
- Write diverse, SEO-friendly content that simplifies complex financial topics
- Develop news stories, explainer articles, and sharable content for multiple channels
- Collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief and SEO team to develop content ideas and strategies
- Integrate monetisation opportunities within content to support customer acquisition goals
- Monitor and analyse content performance, providing insights to enhance engagement
- Provide editorial support and coaching to team members, fostering a high-performing, growth-oriented culture
- Champion the use of AI tools to assist with content creation and process automation
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- 8+ years of journalism experience, preferably with a background in digital publishing
- Experience in finance is preferred, and a keen interest in the finance sector is essential
- A journalism or communications degree
- Strong writing, editing, and fact-checking skills, with a proven ability to create high-quality content quickly
- Understanding of SEO and content management systems (preferably WordPress)
- Excellent judgment and a natural instinct for storytelling and trending topics
- A passion for digital media, particularly search trends and new content formats
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills, with a focus on team development
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach to driving content performance
