How will I help?
Rock-solid relationships are at the heart of every Commercial Banking decision we make. The Senior Manager Business Development is responsible for developing our advisor relationships and lead generation across debt advisory, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity. In this strategic role you will work closely with our Emerging Corporates bankers to promote Westpac's Cashflow and Structured lending proposition in market for the $10M to $100M lending segment.
You will network with key stakeholders across our Adviser networks and facilitate the connectivity of these relationships across states, together with co-ordinating the referral of inter-state deals to the correct Emerging Corporates team. The role will include arranging customer origination roadshows focused on target growth industry segments and across key external origination stakeholders.
This role will require strong utilisation of market knowledge and contacts to develop new origination opportunities outside the designated advisor network to provide warm introductions to bankers. You will also be responsible for directing referrals from other areas of the bank and supporting our bankers with direct origination utilising Westpac's business research and origination tools.

What do I need?
We are looking for a self-motivated and a natural people-person with a drive to nurture and generate relationships with Advisors and support bankers originate in market. Experience originating deals within the $10M - $100M debt market segment is required, along with broad experience utilising business research and origination tools to drive segment opportunities.A strong communicator, you will have a proven track record in engaging and building genuine relationships across both internal and external stakeholders. This will include the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities that come with banker and advisor coverage across a national footprint.
A strong commercial and financial acumen with experience across cashflow, structured lending and security structures in the mid-market corporate segment will ensure your success. You will drive market insights and knowledge and communicate changes in the external and competitor environment to relevant stakeholders. This will include working collaboratively with bankers to share market intelligence to promote and enhance the Westpac value proposition and market competitiveness. Your drive to succeed will assist with the management and recording of ongoing Advisor engagement and to facilitate the expansion of relationships within the referrer base. Undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in Accounting or Finance is advantageous.
