Primary Details

Processing, analyzing and reporting of financial statements and journals.
Primary Responsibilities
• Ensure all processes are documented in a standard format and maintained in an accessible fashion
• Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to improve systems and procedures
• Ensure compliance on provided legislations, industry codes, company policies and procedures.
• Establish and maintain an efficient/ effective relationship with finance teams
• Resolve daily issues and escalations, provide valuable contribution for their resolutions, and communicate information to the team to prevent further issues
• Ensure consistency and effective suite of reports (e.g. general ledger) and results provided to business enabling management to monitor business profitability
• Perform medium complexity tasks, with increased focus on highly complex and urgent tasks
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly deliverables such as expense journals, re-classification of accounts, and management reports.
• Responsible for the preparation of the Quarterly and Yearly Blackline reconciliation.
• Responsible for the preparation of Stamp Duty, BAS and other ATO returns.
• Responsible in clearing Bank reconciling items for the applicable business units.
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Licenses/Certifications
• Certified Public Accountant
Preferred Competencies/Skills
• Sound technical understanding of spreadsheets, data analysis and reconciliation procedures
• Problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in MS tools
• Analytical Skills
• Keen to details
Preferred Experience
• At least 2-3 years relevant work experience
• Audit experience preferred, experience from Big 4 an advantage
Preferred Knowledge
• Broad knowledge of Financial and Accounting Procedures
• Intermediate understanding of best practice accounting
• Knowledge of appropriate regulatory/ statutory frameworks and how they impact on the insurance sectors
