The Tax Manager supports the Group Head of Tax in managing all the direct and indirect tax matters of the group across Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada and the United Kingdom. This includes income tax, transfer pricing, R&D tax incentive, GST or VAT, FBT, stamp duty and payroll tax.

The Tax Manager supports the Group Head of Tax in managing all the direct and indirect tax matters of the group across Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada and the United Kingdom. This includes income tax, transfer pricing, R&D tax incentive, GST or VAT, FBT, stamp duty and payroll tax.
What Does An Average Day Look Like?
No day is average at humm but here's an idea of what you can expect to do in this role:
- Preparing current and deferred tax calculations for statutory reporting purposes.
- Preparing and completing all relevant tax compliance and reporting obligations of the group such as periodic activity statements, GST and VAT returns, payroll tax returns and annual income tax and FBT returns.
- Supporting the finance team with all relevant month-end processes including preparing and/or reviewing tax journals and reconciling various tax accounts in the general ledger.
- Coordinating and forecasting various tax payments for the group.
- Supporting the Group Head of Tax in providing tax advice to the business; and
- Partnering with the broader finance team to review, advise and streamline systems and processes.
- Automation and GST transformation work to assist with streamlining GST systems and processes.

We're also looking for someone who brings:
- Professional tax experience from Big 4 and/or ASX-listed commercial environment particularly in financial services space.
- Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of corporate tax, tax reporting and tax effect accounting
- Strong attention to detail
- Tertiary qualifications in finance/tax related discipline
- CA or equivalent
- Data focus with mindset to constantly improve processes
